Hooligan and I will not be traveling together. My employer booked me on a 1 stopover flight on China Southern Airlines; Hooligan will fly direct with Emirates. We both have long travel days coming up:

Thankfully Hooligan has a travel agency in Dubai that will take care of his clearances and deliver him to my accommodations.
On my behalf the school has book a welcoming service to meet me just inside my arrivals gate and assist me through the airport, customs, immigration, and baggage.
